Gardening Workshop:
The Art of Growing Topiary

Merribee has simply thousands of boxwood (buxus) plants in its gardens! Some have been carefully pruned over the years into wonderful shapes, animals, spirals, circles, people and more. Others have been pruned into hedges and mazes. Whilst very slow-growing, they give great satisfaction, and without a doubt, topiary growing can even become addictive! Join Head Gardener Alan Maxwell and learn how to successfully grow your own topiary. Pot up a buxus plant, and learn when to clip, how to clip, and you are on your way to creating your own topiary. Learn all the tips and tricks to success!

All plants and materials supplied. 10AM - 11.30AM

*Check back for upcoming dates.

BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL.

School Holiday Workshop:
Make Beeswax Wrappers

Create your own beeswax wrappers for your school lunchbox! Learn all about bees and why they are so precious in this world and why we have to look after them. Make lemonade and eat Honey Cake or Honey Sandwiches. Learn why we need to use less plastic, and more good things like beeswax. (You can also explore the gardens, finding all the blue wrens, and the animal shapes in the hedging!) Take home your beautiful creations!
