The Silo

The Silo
In 2009 we completely renovated the derelict concrete silo structure and converted it into romantic accommodation for couples marrying or staying at Merribee. The Grain Silo at Merribee includes one double bed with self-contained lounge and bathroom facilities.

Here's a quick tour...
The Entrance
You enter this circular concrete building at ground floor into a spare room and entrance area.
Bathroom level
The first flight of stairs takes you to the bathroom level, where a freestanding claw-footed bath sits resplendent, opposite the view.
A vanity and toilet are located either side of the bath, while an upholstered seat offers a restful view of this extraordinary room.
The Main Bedroom
The second flight of stairs takes you up to the main bedroom level with a double bed. This is a cosy room with views out on three sides across the gardens and surrounding paddocks.
The Lookout
The third and final flight of stairs takes you to the lookout and lounge. Relax and gaze at the ever changing uninterrupted 360 degree district views.
What our guests are saying...
The Silo is an idyllic gem with garden grounds that are magical and picturesque. The simplicity of the place yet the comfort and style was the perfect remedy to escape the usual rise and grind. The bath tub over looking the garden grounds was sweet and romantic. The top floor gave us a beautiful view of the night as we could see the sky from the 360° windows. I highly recommend this modest gem that has the perfect balance of modern necessities with simplistic and stylish design.
Absolutely stunning accommodation in the silo that is quite different. Stylish industrial meets French provincial style with 360 degree views of the surrounding countryside. The attached gardens are amazing and remind us of the south of France. Lots to do in the area and great restaurants locally. Amazing stay, so thank you.
Such an amazing place - so very different and unique. Looking out and watching the sun go down from the top level was a treat. Access and walking through the very beautiful gardens - which change in delights every time I go there- always makes me happy.
Loved the home made jam and bread for breakfast.
