Merribee is an historic house, 7 acres of ornate gardens, restored silo, barn and accommodation, located on the NSW South Coast; available for special events, functions, weddings and garden parties.  Our garden & cafe is open to the public each Wednesday, from 10am - 3pm.  Our cafe serves coffee/tea/cakes, light lunch and you can purchase produce/james/chutneys/sauces and flowers (in season) -- all grown at Merribee. Join one of our Garden school classes (search through Eventbrite under Merribee) we're currently offering Topiary classes, but a wide range of new classes are coming. Weekend events include High Tea (search through Eventbrite under Merribee, our next High Tea is Dec 17), Film Festival (winter 2018), Mothers' Day (May, 2018) , Melbourne Cup (Nov 2018). ;

GETTING THERE

Merribee, 660 Comerong Island Road, Numbaa, NSW 2540 (also, see the local district map under photos).

Directions from Sydney, just 2 hours and 10 mins south of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (plus stopping time):

  1. Drive south on the F6/Princes Hwy, towards Wollongong and continue south eventually going through Albion Park towards Kiama.
  2. Continue south on the Princes Hwy past Kiama then through Berry and on to Bomaderry.
  3. Drive through Bomaderry, continuing south on the Princes Hwy.
  4. Cross over the Shoalhaven River (at Nowra), past the raised helicopter (on the left), then turn left at the next set of traffic lights (Moss Street), sign post to Terara and Numbaa - Moss St changes into Comerong Is Road.
  5. Continue for 6.6 km from the Highway turn-off.
  6. Look for 'Merribee', which is on the right hand side. It has a white picket fence and white gates. As you drive through the entrance gate (between two large date palms), the house (light coloured) will be on the left hand side of your car.
  7. If you continue along Comerong Island Road too far, you will reach a sharp, right-hand bend and you have gone too far!.

Directions from Canberra (via the Southern Highlands), approximately 2 hours:

  1. Travel north on the Hume Hwy through Goulburn and take the exit to Sutton Forest.
  2. Continue on to Fitzroy Falls and then through to Kangaroo Valley.
  3. Continue through Kangaroo Valley to Bomaderry/Nowra, then turn right onto the Princes Hwy at Bomaderry.
  4. Cross over the Shoalhaven River (at Nowra), past the raised helicopter (on the left), then turn left at the next set of traffic lights (Moss Street), sign post to Terara and Numbaa - Moss St changes into Comerong Is Road.
  5. Continue for 6.6 km from this turn-off.
