Winter Gardening Class Schedule now ready!

Come to Merribee on Wednesdays and join a Gardening Class.                 Alan Maxwell, our Head Gardener gives practical, useful demonstrations across a variety of topics during winter.

Learn all you wanted to know about How to Prune a Rose to ensure that it blooms prolifically in Spring. Learn to Prune Your Fruit Trees, and make a small fence or structure for your veggie patch from the pruned twigs and branches.  Learn what you should be doing in the Vegetable Garden at this time of year.

And of course, Merribee is famous for its topiary and hedges.  Come and learn How to Grow Topiary, and How to Trim a Hedge perfectly. All classes offer morning or afternoon tea.  Lunch is also available if you'd like to stay at Merribee for the entire day.    See the Class timetable.

Merribee Film Festival!

Our January 2017 Film Festival has now ended and we are planning for next year’s event.

Held among the sensory gardens on the vast six-acre South Coast property, the Merribee Film Festival will shine a light on iconic Australian films such as Babe and The Piano. Before watching the film at sundown, visitors can take in nature’s own cinematic display, as the sun sets over the green paddocks of the property. Then weave through 2km of pathways that lead to the garden rooms of this 19th-century estate, from the Rose Garden where 1000 David Austin, Old English and Old French roses beguile with their fragrant aroma, to the Lavender Paddock where lavenders transport visitors to the fields of France’s Provence. Gourmet dinner boxes, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and ice-creams will be available on the night, as well as the chance to win lucky door prizes every single evening of the festival.
